Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions Answered...

Question 1: Do I need to make an appointment?

Yes we are an appointment only service, with the exception of Walk-In Wednesdays, where you can pop in without an appointment and get pierced on a first-come, first-served basis.
It’s a great option if you’re feeling spontaneous or simply passing by! Outside of this, please get in touch to make an appointment.

Question 2: How old do I need to be to get a piercing?

We pierce clients aged 16 and over with valid photo ID. For anyone under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present and provide consent. Please bring proof of age and identity to avoid disappointment on the day.

Question 3: What type of jewellery do you use?

All of our jewellery is made from high-quality, implant-grade titanium or 14k gold : both are safe for fresh piercings and designed to minimise irritation. We never use cheap metals or plated jewellery. Once your piercing has healed, you can upgrade to our decorative ranges in gold, opal, and genuine gemstone styles.

Question 4: Can I bring my own jewellery to my appointment to be pierced with?

Unfortunately no - as your jewellery hasn’t been properly sterilised / autoclaved on site. We cannot guarantee the jewellery’s level of sterility, meaning it will not be fit to be inserted into a new piercing. However, we do offer a range of jewellery to customise your piercing! These range in price and can be viewed in the studio. Once your piercing has fully healed, you can always upgrade it to suit your desired look!

Question 5: How long do piercings take?

Piercings can take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes from start to finish - this includes being greeted by our team, filling out your consent form, choosing jewellery, making sure your piercer has marked in the desired place and then going for the piercing! The piercing itself takes no more than 10–20 seconds to complete, it is super quick!
Traditional lobe piercings can take slightly longer to mark up to achieve perfect placement.

Question 6: Can you numb me before my piercing?

Unfortunately we cannot numb anyone prior to being pierced, nor do we recommend for any numbing agents to be applied before arriving at the studio. We can however assure you that the piercing process is quick, simple and will be over before you can say ‘numbing cream’!

Question 7 : Do you use piercing guns?

Absolutely not!! We are a no gun studio! This means all of our piercings are performed using sterile needles. This is safer, more hygienic and is so much better for the healing of a piercing. Guns can cause blowouts and shatter cartilage due to their nature of forcing through the jewellery. Our hollow needles create a small space for your new jewellery to be inserted into - this may sound more advanced and uncomfortable, however this is a much safer way to receive a piercing.

Question 8: Do piercings hurt? Does this one hurt more than that one? What’s the rating out of 10? How bad does it hurt for? What’s the most painful…

These are all very valid questions, however the answer to these is not quite simple. Everyone is so so different when it comes to pain! And many people have different opinions on what the most painful piercing is. It all comes down to you and your pain tolerance. All piercings hurt, but not as bad as you may think! The instant pain of a piercing is over so quick, afterwards it is normal to experience aches and throbbing. The piercing is the easiest part of the process - it’s the healing and aftercare that will really test your patience.

Question 9: How many piercings can I get in one appointment?

We like to recommend getting no more than 3 piercings in one appointment - there is an exception depending on where you are wanting your piercings, however we recommend to get no more than 2 cartilage piercings in one appointment. Before having you back in the studio for another session, we like to see how all of your other piercings are doing in terms of healing. If you are experiencing healing issues or if they have not passed the first downsizing stage then it would be in your best interest to wait until everything is fully healed, continuing with more piercings will result in doubling your overall healing time and no one wants that!

Please Note we are appointment only. Please contact us to book.
